JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Salesforce Developer will be expected to work on client-facing Salesforce instances, supporting the growth of recruiting for the Air Force Civilian Service and other clients. The Senior Salesforce Developer will work with internal and external project teams to gather requirements and configure and extend the Salesforce application based on business needs with robust systems and testing documentation, within an agile environment.

This position requires the ability to work in a SCRUM / Agile methodology, produce regular documentation, standardize processes, and create efficiencies for the client. This position is expected to grow to support multiple clients in a Salesforce capacity. Many of these opportunities relate to civilian and military recruiting efforts in a variety of U.S. Government agencies, but may involve other Salesforce applications. This individual must be able to adapt to regular changing requirements and respond to security scrutiny of the systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Serve as Lead Salesforce Developer
• Proactively gather functional requirements, work directly with the end-client, and build strategic development plans
• Mentor Programmers, Designers, and Clients on Salesforce functionality

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain current and evolving subject matter expertise of all Salesforce business and technical aspects
• Create and maintain Salesforce environments from the ground up
• Write custom code, handwritten, to extend Salesforce beyond its original constraints
• Develop Apex (classes and triggers), Lightning Components, and Visualforce to extend Salesforce
• Install, maintain, and contribute to Salesforce modules
• Apply JavaScript / TypeScript to modify front-end templates
• Survey and edit websites and applications as needed
• Implement web solutions and best practices
• Assist Project Managers with planning site redesigns and updates
• Maintain knowledge of web languages including APEX, C#, and PHP
• Maintain communication with Creative Directors and Project Managers on scope of projects
• Assist Project Managers in keeping development tasks on schedule and within budget

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Highly proficient with Salesforce Lightning Service Cloud Unlimited, In-Box, and Partner Communities. Development of custom objects within Salesforce
• Demonstrated expertise and experience with CRM applications and relational database applications in financial services
• Knowledge of SQL, SOQL, EXCEL, JSON, ETL, and Salesforce release processes
• Competency in HTML, XML, Flex, C#, SQL, and REST
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and the ability to modify front-end templates
• Ability to create strong documentation and workflow diagrams in UML – Visio, LucidChart
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication, effective listening, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related field 
• 6+ years of experience in Salesforce Development or Salesforce Architecture 
• Minimum of one Salesforce certification
• Experience with Salesforce platform programming languages – Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Component framework
• Active interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for reporting and information gathering
• Web application development experience including JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5
• Lightning Component development experience
• Lightning Design System framework experience
• Knowledge of Declarative Salesforce development tools such as Process Builder, Visual Workflow, Lightning App Builder, etc
• Follow established Salesforce development standards and best practices
• Comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance
