MarCom Group Wins Share of 2010 Census Communications Contract

MarCom Group, Inc. has won a share of the U.S. Census Bureau's Census 2010 communications contract. On September 6, the Census Bureau announced award of the contract, worth an estimated $200 million, to Draftfcb of New York and a team of partner agencies that includes MarCom Group. Draftfcb is part of the Interpublic Group of communications companies, and MarCom Group is a woman-owned, full-service marketing communications and event management small business headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia.

"It's absolutely vital that everyone participate in the census, and as our nation becomes more diverse, the challenge of reaching everyone becomes greater," Census Bureau Director Louis Kincannon said in announcing the award. This requires a large, complex, behavior-change campaign, especially one that reaches historically hard-to-count populations. MarCom Group will help develop communications strategy and branding to recruit thousands of local census office personnel and several hundred thousand enumerators to reach all U.S. communities, including hard-to-reach populations, such as travelers, college students and overseas military personnel, and minority populations who are sometimes wary of participating in the census. In that connection, MarCom Group will craft recruitment messages tailored with appeals for each identified organization and community. MarCom Group will also provide advertising placement services for print, radio, TV, and Web advertising to reach the identified audiences in overseas communities as well as throughout the United States and its territories.

MarCom Group's services will include strategic planning and consultation in support of the Census 2010 communications plan, including creative elements for the multilingual recruitment of personnel to staff hundreds of regional, local and temporary Census 2010 offices, as well as the recruitment of hundreds of thousands of enumerators. The campaign will target cultural- and language-specific candidates who can meet the needs of the Census 2010 project. The media buying plan will include specific publications, online services, social networking organizations, and broadcast sources that can attract the diversity and skill sets needed for enumeration success. MarCom Group Lands DIA Advertising Services Contract

The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has awarded a contract for recruitment advertising to Fairfax marketing communications firm MarCom Group, Inc. The IDIQ contract is worth $5 million per year for a base year plus four option years, for a possible maximum of $25 million. MarCom Group has worked with DIA since October 2005 on a previous contract, after replacing a much larger national incumbent agency.

The Defense Intelligence Agency mission is to provide timely, objective, and cogent military intelligence to warfighters, defense planners, and defense and national security policymakers. To learn more about the DIA, please visit www.dia.mil.

MarCom Group’s contract will support the agency through providing recruitment strategy, planning, advertising and media placement, outreach programs, job fairs and events, and various awareness campaigns and materials, all geared to attract applicants to the extensive occupations available within the agency.

DCAA Orders New Recruitment Materials from MarCom Group

MarCom Group is pleased that the relationship we have enjoyed with the Defense Contract Audit Agency since 2002 is continuing with a new order for recruitment marketing materials for upcoming DCAA hiring events. In the past, MarCom Group has created a distinctive brand and a variety of marketing materials for the DCAA recruitment program. The materials include brochures, an online career center, and promotional specialty items such as business card CDS, pencils, pens, and calculators. DCAA has now asked MarCom Group to update existing materials and supply new promotional items to communicate its message to recruits at hiring events in 2007.


FAA Exercises Option With MarCom Group

MarCom Group is pleased to announce that on April 27, 2007 the Federal Aviation Administration exercised its option to renew our current contract for an additional year. The contract is to create branding and print and online marketing materials for the recruitment of air traffic controllers, safety engineers, administrative officers, and other personnel to the FAA.

MarCom Group to Provide Strategic Advertising and Creative Services for Major Schüco U.S. Marketing Initiative

Under our teaming partner, CRC PR, MarCom Group is providing strategic and tactical design and advertising services for a major U.S. awareness campaign by the European construction-systems giant, Schüco International KG.

Schüco is a world leader in the design and manufacture of systems-based, energy-efficient windows, doors, and building envelopes, using innovative techniques and advances in aluminum, steel, vinyl, and solar technology. The firm is headquartered in Bielefeld, Germany, with U.S. headquarters in Newington, Connecticut. Schüco employs 4,600 personnel, approximately half of whom are engineers, and has 12,000 partner companies in more than a 70 countries worldwide. Its annual revenues are in excess of 1 billion.

MarCom Group Lands DIA-EO Recruitment Communications Contract

MarCom Group recently was awarded a five-year contract to provide integrated marketing communications, public relations, and advertising services to help the Defense Intelligence Agency's Equal Opportunity Office implement strategies that will result in the dissemination of information and the achievement of overall EO goals.

Under this contract, MarCom Group is providing strategic marketing research and consultation, as well as design, production, and placement services for a variety of print and multimedia collateral, specialty items, and print and broadcast media.

This contract complements MarCom Group's existing contract for overall DIA recruitment communications and continues to extend MarCom Group's services to the U.S. Intelligence Community in the specialty area of recruitment communications. 


MarCom Group Launches Division Branding and Re-Positioning Project for L-3 Communications

In 2005, L-3 Communications added the linguist services business of Titan Corporation to L-3's more than 70 divisions. The new division is a $500 million-per-year business, principally serving the U.S. Army.

Recently, the division contracted for MarCom Group to develop branding and marketing communication materials to help the division expand into new government and commercial markets. MarCom Group has just delivered an interim website and is currently producing a new corporate logo, developing the brand and tagline messaging, and establishing the new graphic identity to reinforce the brand.

Future deliverables are expected to include a wide variety of ad designs, print materials, and specialty items to support everything from general business development, marketing and advertising, to specific targeted marketing and recruitment campaigns for linguists and cultural advisors. Our immediate project will be the design and development of an innovative online career center to speed the recruitment and processing of applicants.


MarCom Group wins Long-Term Contract to Develop and Establish a Complete Branding Program for Royal Empire Entertainment.

Because the hip-hop industry plugs virtually every high-end brand from Cartier to Versace in its images, song lyrics and personalities, any company serving this industry needs to have a comparably distinctive and attention-grabbing brand identity in order to succeed.

Royal Empire Entertainment, LLC, an emerging hip-hop music management and marketing agency, has hired MarCom Group to create just such a brand to integrate the company's mission, goals, products and services and quickly establish its presence as a major supplier of services to this fast-moving industry.

REE has four major lines of business. It manages and represents musicians and bands. It produces and markets recordings, including original "beats" for the backgrounds of hip-hop lyrics. It produces and sells an exclusive line of hip-hop inspired, contemporary-design clothing. And, it operates a modeling agency specializing in promotions for its clothing line and for hip-hop industry events.

MarCom Group will develop advertising and marketing strategies to promote new artists' releases, create and produce promotion materials, develop a high-end e-commerce website, and help implement new REE marketing campaigns and creative directions.

As a major consultant in developing the REE image, establishing the brand identity, and engaging the REE audiences, one of our primary goals will be to ensure that the distinctive REE style is reflected clearly and consistently in all of the company's advertising, marketing materials, and events.
